LUBBOCK, Texas –Open Door is seeking community support for an expectant mother in its survivor housing program as she prepares to welcome her baby.
The nonprofit is hosting a baby shower for the mother, who is due at the end of June.
According to the organization, many individuals who enter their survivor housing program are rebuilding their lives and often arrive with nothing or few personal belongings. Open Door works to provide support, stability and essential resources as residents move toward healing and independence.

For expectant and new mothers, that support can include baby supplies, postpartum necessities and other items needed to care for a newborn.
Open Door said donations from the mother’s Amazon baby registry are currently needed at this time. Community members can help by purchasing items from the wish list or sharing the registry with others.
