EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Fort Bliss in El Paso has just been named the best military base in the U.S.
According to the Department of War, Fort Bliss earned the 2026 Commander in Chief’s Annual Award for Installation Excellence.
As part of the award, Installation Commander Major General Curtis D. Taylor, U.S. Army and Garrison Commander Colonel Brendan R. Gallagher, U.S. Army, were also recognized.
The award noted three standout achievements from Fort Bliss for fiscal year 2025: “superior mission support, pioneering energy and water modernization, and exceptional Quality of Life and Service Culture achievements.”
