Remington Ranch shooting (KPRC 2)
HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – A 18-year-old has been arrested and is charged with murder after a shooting at a home in the Remington Ranch subdivision in north Harris County left a 15-year-old dead Monday night.
The shooting happened at a home near Remington Ridge Road and Remington Bend Drive.
Deputies initially responded to reports of a shooting in progress. When they arrived, investigators said they found a 15-year-old boy outside the home suffering from gunshot wounds.
The teen was taken to a hospital, where he later died. The 15-year-old victim has been identified as Donald Slaughter.
Arrest update: the deceased teen has been identified as Donald Slaughter (15) and the defendant as Tejonte Givan (3/23/08).

A 18-year-old. identified as the suspect, Tejonte Givan, was also shot during the incident. He was treated and released from the hospital.
Deputies investigating the shooting learned Givan allegedly shot Slaughter because he reportedly owed him money. It is believed that Slaughter was also armed and managed to fire at Givan.
Givan has been charged with murder and booked into the Harris County Jail.
