North Texas is forecast to remain hot and sunny through the rest of the week, with shower and storm chances returning later this weekend.
According to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office, the heat index, or “feels-like” temperature, Thursday could reach as high as 102. Mostly sunny weather is expected, with a high of 94.
There is a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms Thursday night, with the weather service predicting a 20% chance of precipitation.
Friday and Saturday will remain hot and sunny, with a high near 94 and 96 respectively, according to the weather service. The heat index will reach as high as 103 Saturday.
Sunday is forecast to start mostly sunny, with a high of 95. Shower and thunderstorm chances are low throughout the day at 20% but become likely in the evening. Humidity will bring the heat index up to 105 Sunday, the weather service predicts.
