A man is wanted out of Jacksonville in East Texas following a shooting where an officer was injured Sunday afternoon, officials said.

A Jacksonville police officer was shot around 4:40 p.m. Sunday, Jacksonville police said in a news release.

The officer was flown to a Tyler hospital and is in stable condition, according to the release.

Texas law enforcement have issued a Blue Alert and are offering a Crime Stoppers reward for any information on his location or whereabouts.

According to the alert, the man was last seen wearing all black clothing, is 5-feet-9-inches tall, weighs about 152 pounds and is Black with brown eyes and black hair.

The man is suspected to be driving a 2012 Gray GMC Sierra truck with a Texas license plate.

He is suspected to be armed with a rifle and is considered dangerous, according to the release.

Police asks anyone with information to contact the Jacksonville Police Department at 903-586-2546 or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.

If anyone is to encounter the man, the alert askes witnesses to call 911 and do not approach.
