Halloween 2025 has officially wrapped up and before everyone starts decorating for Christmas let’s take some time to start planning for my favorite holiday: Thanksgiving!

It seems as if Thanksgiving is always forgotten because stores start prepping their holiday aisles with Christmas decorations the week of Halloween! Sure, sometimes you’ll get a few Thanksgiving decorations sprinkled in an aisle, but it’s not enough in my opinion!!

Thankfully El Paso has a traditional event that makes sure to focus on Thanksgiving and the city starts preparing for it months in advance. I*’m talking about the Sun Bowl Parade and officials have already announced thor Sun Bowl Parade Grand Marshal and it is a familiar face to many: Aarón Sánchez

The Glasheen, Valles & Inderman Injury Lawyers Sun Bowl Parade is one of the most iconic Thanksgiving Day traditions in the Sun City, and 2025 is about to be extra flavorful because El Paso’s own Aarón Sánchez is leading the way.

Sánchez is an award-winning chef that many people may be familiar with especially if they have  watched him serving up sass and culinary wisdom on FOX’s MasterChef and MasterChef Junior, but he isn’t just a TV star.  Sánchez is a proud El Paso native who brings his Mexican heritage to life through bold, modern Latin cuisine.

If you’ve ever dreamed of dining at his New Orleans hotspot Johnny Sánchez or flipping through one of his cookbooks like La Comida del Barrio, you know the man can turn food into art. Beyond the kitchen, he’s also inspiring future generations of chefs through the Aarón Sánchez Impact Fund, proving that his love for cooking goes hand-in-hand with giving back.

This Thanksgiving, El Paso families can catch him waving down Montana Avenue as the floats, bands, and dancers roll through in true El Paso fashion.

So mark your calendar for Thursday, November 27th and make sure to grab your family, your comfy lawn chairs, maybe an umbrella depending on this crazy El Paso weather, because this year’s parade is going to be absolutely chef’s kiss!
