David M. Halperin
OBITUARY
David M. Halperin, 71, formally of Allentown, passed away on June 3, 2026 at Las Palmas Medical Center in El Paso, TX.
David was born in Allentown on May, 16, 1955. He was a kind, hardworking, gentle soul who was generous with his time and technical expertise with everyone he knew. David studied engineering at Lafayette College and worked locally at Lutron Electronics for several years. In addition, he worked as a disc jockey at WAEB radio station where he was dubbed “The Daver,” a nickname that remained with him for nearly a half a century.
David’s real professional passion was broadcast radio engineering – a career he pursued in Allentown, upper New York State, and El Paso, Texas. It was in El Paso where David found his true home. He built a life filled with work colleagues, strong friendships, and a supportive gym community.
David is survived by his sister Marcia Halperin, his brother Alan Halperin, two nieces, two nephews, two grandnieces and two grandnephews. David was predeceased by his parents Marion and Edward Halperin and his sister Naomi Halperin.
