In “Fortnight,” the opening track of Taylor Swift’s 2024 album The Tortured Poets Department, the global pop star croons alongside Grapevine-raised musician Post Malone about an illicit love affair. “I love you, it’s ruining my life,” Swift sings.

The yearning-filled duet could be a part of Post Malone’s rumored halftime set at the Thanksgiving matchup between the Dallas Cowboys and the Kansas City Chiefs at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium on Nov. 27.

It’s all speculative at this point, but the Cowboys dropped a video on social media on Sunday with Easter eggs pointing to Malone as the billed act.

Among the hints, the 18-second video opens with the sound of a truck’s horns blaring. Malone released a horror graphic novel titled Big Rig this year that’s about an 18-wheeler used to fight off demons in medieval Europe. The comic book truck, similar to the one shown in the teaser, has bull-like horns.

Malone has also belonged to the Cowboys fandom for years (his father was a longtime employee at AT&T Stadium). Malone recently ducked into a Grapevine burger joint to watch a game against the Denver Broncos.

Cowboys kicker Brandon Aubrey made a cameo in the Thanksgiving game teaser video. In May, when Malone performed a sold-out concert at AT&T Stadium, he wore Aubrey’s jersey. Coincidence?

As for Swift, the singer recently became engaged to Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. She has often cheered on Kelce at his games.

Her attendance at the Thanksgiving game also remains unconfirmed, although the possibility of a Swift sighting could be one reason why ticket prices have soared. Cowboys general manager Jerry Jones is already prepared for her.

“I don’t want to do anything to jump the gun,” he said last month on 105.3 The Fan (KRLD-FM), “but we would have an elaborate seat for her if she should attend the game.”

In September 2024, when Swift and Malone won best collaboration at the Video Music Awards for “Fortnight,” she praised him as “everyone in music’s favorite person to collaborate with.”

“You are so ridiculously talented,” she said to him, also calling him “unfailingly polite.”

“It has taken me forever to get him to stop calling me ma’am.”
