Bexar County Sheriff’s investigators have identified a woman killed in a crash involving an SUV and an 18-wheeler that left three other occupants hospitalized last week. Deputies responded to the crash in the 2000 block of Talley Road, just east of Highway 211, on Friday afternoon, June 5.
The driver of the SUV was trying to cross Talley Road and continue east on Tillman Ridge when an 18-wheeler traveling south on Talley struck the SUV, according to the sheriff’s office investigation. The crash caused road closures in both directions on Talley Road for hours.
Investigators said a rear passenger of the SUV, Katelyn Carreno, was hospitalized in critical condition. She later died from her injuries. The other three occupants of the SUV stabilized after being admitted to a hospital, BCSO said.
“The operator of the 18-wheeler confirmed what the roadway evidence showed investigators. At this time no criminal charges appear on either operator,” BCSO wrotre to MySA in a response for further information on this case.
