EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Families across the El Paso area will have an opportunity to learn about educational programs and enroll students for the upcoming school year during the 2nd Annual Socorro ISD Recruitment & Enrollment Expo.

The event is scheduled from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, at the Socorro ISD Student Activities Complex (SAC) II, located at 1300 Joe Battle Blvd. The community event is open to students, parents, and families from throughout the region.

District officials say attendees will be able to explore a variety of academic, athletic, fine arts, extracurricular, and career and technical education opportunities available through Socorro Independent School District. Enrollment specialists will also be on site to assist parents with completing online registration and enrolling students for the 2026-27 school year.

Students, teachers, principals, and district staff will showcase specialized programs offered across the district. Representatives from programs including health professions, law enforcement, robotics, engineering, automotive and diesel technology, culinary arts, cosmetology, fire science, business, marketing, and STEM education will provide demonstrations and information for prospective families.

The expo will also feature student performances, games, food trucks, and raffle prizes. Organizers say the event is designed to give families a closer look at the educational pathways available to students from Pre-K through high school.

In addition to the expo, Socorro ISD is inviting vehicle enthusiasts to participate in the “Rev It Up for Enrollment” Car Show. Participants can compete for Fan Favorite awards, with first, second and third-place honors to be announced during the event. Instead of an entry fee, organizers are requesting a $25 gift card donation, with registration closing June 15.

District leaders encourage families considering enrollment in Socorro ISD to attend and learn more about the programs, certifications, and academic opportunities available to students throughout the district.
