The Corpus Christi 7-Day Film Project is counting down to the start of its popular moviemaking competition.

The event gives filmmakers the opportunity to write, shoot and edit a film in just one week.

Before the competition begins, a free event next week will give creative minds the chance to come together and build their dream teams.

Organizers said an important change this year involves stricter guidelines regarding the use of artificial intelligence.

“We did meet some filmmakers and got some feedback from them to help us develop our guidelines because we take the human part of it serious, and AI is here but that doesn’t mean that we don’t value the human made aspect of it,” said Heidi Hovda, co-founder of the Corpus Christi 7-Day Film Project.

The cast and crew call will take place next Wednesday, June 17, at the House of Rock at 6 p.m..
