BOSTON — The Rangers remain in wait-and-see mode with their star middle infielder.
“It was much different than when he woke up yesterday or even at the field yesterday,” Schumaker said. “All of that is positive, but again, not enough to suit up today.”
Seager collided with Kansas City Royals catcher Carter Jensen when he went from first base to home plate on right fielder Brandon Nimmo’s double in Thursday’s win. He remained in the game, hit a home run in his next at-bat and reported sore ribs and a sore jaw before Friday’s series opener against the Red Sox.
The Rangers started Nicky Lopez at shortstop in Saturday’s game.
