EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — A driver accused of intentionally ramming another vehicle and then fleeing from deputies in San Elizario was arrested Saturday afternoon.
According to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office, on June 7 at about 1:44 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the intersection of Chicken Ranch Road and Socorro Road for a motor vehicle crash.
Deputies said information provided to dispatch indicated the driver of a blue Mazda passenger vehicle had intentionally struck a blue GMC pickup truck.
Deputies then located both vehicles in the 13800 block of Socorro Road. As deputies arrived, the driver of the Mazda fled the scene and failed to stop for law enforcement, the sheriff’s office said. The vehicle was later brought to a stop in the 12900 block of Alnor Street.
The driver was identified as 41-year-old Samuel Dominguez of San Elizario.
The sheriff’s office said Dominguez resisted deputies during the arrest, but after a brief struggle, he was taken into custody without further incident.
Dominguez was transported to the El Paso County Detention Facility and charged with two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, resisting arrest, and evading arrest/detention with a vehicle. His total bond was set at $102,000.
