HOWEVER, IT STILL POSES NO THREAT TO US HERE IN FLORIDA. AND HERE’S WHY. THERE IS BROAD LOW PRESSURE JUST OFF THE EAST COAST OF MEXICO. THAT IS GOING TO MOVE FARTHER INLAND OVER THE NEXT FEW DAYS. WHAT THAT BRINGS IS HEAVIER RAINFALL. MAYBE SOME GUSTY WINDS WITH SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS. THAT AREA OF SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS COULD REEMERGE OVER THE GULF TUESDAY INTO WEDNESDAY. WHAT THAT MEANS IS THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GULF COAST. PLACES LIKE TEXAS, LOUISIANA, WE’LL SEE INCREASED RAINFALL AMOUNTS OVER THE NEXT SEVERAL DAYS. YOU SEE THAT SWATH OF RED IN ORANGE AND EVEN PURPLE. THAT’S BECAUSE OF THAT AREA THAT BROAD LOW PRESSURE GETTING PICKED UP BY A FRONT AND BRINGING MORE TROPICAL MOISTURE TO THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GULF COAST. LOOK ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE SCREEN. Watching for low-end tropical development chances off the coast of Texas

The National Hurricane Center has highlighted the western Gulf off the coast of Texas for potential tropical development this weekend. As of Sunday afternoon, development chances have raised slightly. The NHC says there is a 30% chance for development over the next seven days.
