“It was great having New Haven’s own Tyler Booker and his family visit us before he headed back to Texas for the upcoming season,” Frank Pepe’s wrote in the caption of its Instagram post. “Good luck this year, Tyler! We’ll be cheering you on from Wooster Street!”
Booker commented on the post, thanking Frank Pepe’s for hosting him and his family.
The New Haven native returned to the Elm City this past weekend to host his fourth annual Tyler Booker Youth Football Camp at Hopkins School on Saturday. The camp allows athletes in middle school and high school from all over the region to participate in drills, lessons and training.
“I take a lot of pride for where I am from. For me to have the ability to come back, it’s really important to the community, and it’s huge for me,” Booker told CT Insider in 2025. “I’m going to continue to do this camp for as many years as I can. I love doing it. I love pouring back to the youth.”
Booker began his football career in New Haven when he was around 7 years old, and played the majority of his youth football with the New Haven Steelers program. He attended high school in New Jersey for one year before transferring to IMG Academy in Florida, where he became one of the top five-star recruits in the nation.
