COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (KKTV) – With the assistance of a K9 patrol, a suspect surrendered to El Paso County deputies and was taken into custody after a felony at-large alert was issued.
El Paso County deputies said shortly after midnight on June 7, they were called in to a domestic violence incident in progress on the 1100 block of Solace Pond View in Cimarron Hills, near Powers Boulevard and Galley Road.
When deputies arrived, they learned the suspect had fled the area.
Deputies said based on evidence collected at the scene and a victim’s statement, the sheriff’s office issued a felony at-large alert for the suspect, identified as 32-year-old William Davis.
The following day, deputies received information about Davis’ location and responded to an address in the 9500 block of Pony Gulch Way, near Marksheffel Road and Bradley Road.
Deputies said Davis was known to possess a gun and was considered “armed and dangerous.”
Deputies, including K9 Styx, responded to the residence, established a secure perimeter and began making announcements for the suspect to leave.
Deputies said that after several attempts to talk with Davis, they warned him that K9 Styx would be deployed if he failed to cooperate. Soon after, he exited his residence and complied with deputies’ commands.
Davis was booked into the El Paso County Jail on charges related to first-degree burglary, second-degree assault with strangulation, harassment and criminal mischief.
Deputies said Davis was released on a $7,500 bond.
