Texas Weather Update: Multiple parts of Texas are currently experiencing turbulent weather. Borderland faced thunderstorms, accompanied by heavy rain. While the El Paso county is at high risk of floods. 

Texas Weather Update: Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain in Borderland 

The Borderland area of Texas was recently hit with thunderstorms and heavy rain. Multiple parts of Borderland, including Anthony, Las Cruces and more reported the stormy conditions. The National Weather Service has cautioned that these conditions will most likely prevail for some days.  

Texas Weather Update: El Paso County’s Flood Alert 

A severe flood alert was recently issued in the El Paso county of Texas. The Texas Department of Transportation (El Paso District) has already reported cases of flooded waterways in the Northeast.

Flooded intersections were also reported in the Sunset neighborhood of El Paso’s Upper Valley. And the National Weather Service has issued a flash flood alert for areas extending up to Socorro.   

The National Weather Service also issued a several alert for Sunland Park and Santa Teresa. 

Texas Weather Update: Causes of Turbulent Weather in Texas 

According to  the National Weather Service, the current turbulent weather in Texas was caused by an unseasonal cold front headed southward and moisture lingering from the remnants of Tropical Storm Christina. Some believe that tropical disturbance formed in the nearby Gulf of Mexico might have also been a contributing factor.

Texas Weather Update: Advisory for Local Residents 

Due to the ongoing turbulent weather conditions in Texas, residents should avoid driving into shallow water. The National Weather Service has also cautioned locals of the same saying “Turn around, don’t drown”.
