At first glance, major sportsbooks seem to think the champion will come out of the Western Conference as DraftKings and Caesars like the San Antonio Spurs to finish the job next year, while FanDuel and BetMGM favor the Oklahoma City Thunder to hoist the Larry O’Brien trophy for the second time in three seasons. For the Dallas Mavericks, there’s a slight variance across sportsbooks, but the odds are saying they will need a lot to go right next year to be in the championship picture.

Here’s what the Mavericks’ NBA title odds look like right now.

As it currently stands, the sportsbooks like multiple Western Conference foes such as the Nuggets, Timberwolves and Lakers ahead of the Mavs. The Celtics, with a helthy Jayson Tatum returning, are the top Eastern Conference team across all four outlets.

There is of course the NBA free agency period, set to begin on July 6, which could change preseason odds significantly. The Mavericks’ roster could look different from last season, especially if the front office decides to move on from All-Star guard Kyrie Irving.
