A suspicious death in unincorporated El Paso County on Friday is being investigated by the sheriff’s office, according to Public Information Officer Cassandra Sebastian.
A call for service was received around 2:54 p.m. for a medical response in the 4000 block of Loomis Avenue. Sebastian said medical personnel from the Stratmoor Hills Fire Department found a deceased adult female and “immediately requested” a response from deputies.
Sebastian could not elaborate on the suspicious circumstances and said the relationship between the caller and the female is under investigation.
Sebastian gave a media briefing along the short winding dead end of Loomis Avenue near Career Readiness Academy just before children in costumes began trick-or-treating in the neighborhood for Halloween.
She said there is no risk to the community, and deputies will likely remain in the area to conduct their investigation throughout the night.
Anyone with information about the incident can call the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office at 719-390-5555 or remain anonymous on the crime-stoppers tip line at 719-634-7867.
