Tuesday marks the start of a series of clear, dry days in Dallas-Fort Worth.
Temperatures are expected to reach a high of 90 degrees with a low of 73 degrees, according to the National Weather Service’s Fort Worth office.
Wednesday’s high is forecast to be 93 degrees with Thursday at 96 degrees. However, Thursday’s heat index, or “feels like” temperature, is forecast by the weather service to reach a potentially dangerous 109.
Heat advisories are issued by the weather service when the heat index reaches above 105, and postponing outdoor activities is encouraged. Any heat index of 110 or higher is considered “extremely dangerous” by the weather service, causing an extreme heat warning to be issued.
Partly-cloudy to clear skies and humidity are anticipated throughout the week.
Slight precipitation chances return Thursday evening at 30%, before rising to 53% Friday.
