The City of Dallas is working to repair a sinkhole near White Rock Lake. Crews will fill the hole that formed earlier this year between East Lawther and San Rafael Drive.
The city says it was an abandoned pipeline that caused the dirt to cave in. Work is expected to last throughout the summer, and one of the westbound lanes of Garland Road will be closed throughout the construction.
This is near the White Rock Lake Trail; work will take place Monday through Saturday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Part of the trail is also closed for construction. The city says it’s about safety, and signage is posted with detours.
