Once again, Texas baseball is facing elimination at the College World Series. And the Longhorns will have to beat another SEC foe if they want to continue their season.
Texas and Georgia faced off just a few days ago, with a 7-1 loss sending UT to the losers’ bracket. UGA joined that side of the field after losing to Oklahoma, yet another SEC school, 4-3, on Monday. Behind Adrian Rodriguez’s record-tying performance Texas beat Alabama on Monday to set up this rematch.
Georgia won both the SEC regular season title and the SEC Tournament. Texas finished second before an early exit from the conference tournament. Each team won the regional and super regional it hosted.
