CocoAndré Chocolatier and Horchateria was ranked as the No. 16 place to get a chocolate treat by Yelp Elites.

Mother and daughter team Andrea and Cindy Pedraza opened the shop in 2009. Andrea worked at a chocolate shop part-time before she became a master chocolatier. Cindy was working in the construction industry learning how to manage a team and run a business. Then the two found themselves unemployed due to the 2009 recession.

With $1,000 between the two of them, they started CocoAndré.

Their style of cocoa focuses on European chocolate techniques with Mexican flavors. The Pedrazas source their chocolate from 3,500-year-old trees in Chiapas in southeast Mexico.
