EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 60-year-old man pleaded guilty to cockfighting charges in El Paso County on Wednesday and has been sentenced to two years of probation.
According to court records, Isidoro Martinez Amparan pled guilty to organizing cockfights and was sentenced to 24 months’ probation.

Amparan was arrested back in March after detectives identified him as an organizer of illegal cockfighting events near Socorro following a complaint.
Deputies from the Peter J. Herrera Patrol station and the Animal Welfare Unit responded to the complaint and described finding several dead roosters and instruments associated with cockfighting.
Afterwards, a search warrant was executed, resulting in the collection of cockfighting paraphernalia and the safe relocation of 16 roosters and 27 hens to City Animal Services.
