Anna is amping up its retail offerings in a big way. 

The growing city on the northern side of the Dallas-Fort Worth area is set to get an Aldi grocer, along with several other national chains, according to a statement from Big V Property Group. It’s all part of a new development, called the Rosamond Town Center, that covers more than 350,000 square feet and is located near Highway 75.

The new Aldi would join the many stores in North Texas that cover Denton, Fort Worth, Midlothian and to Rockwall. It also comes after the closure of a site in Dallas. 

Aldi is known for its smaller-format stores that offer a variety of groceries while appealing to price-conscious shoppers. Its offerings cover expected items including produce, meats and dairy along with personal care and household products.

Anna continues to attract investment as it benefits from surging population trends. The city is among the 10 fastest-growing in the country with at least 20,000 people, according to the U.S. Census Bureau. 

The new Rosamond Town Center development, an open-air center, is set to include other sizable additions, the Big V Property Group statement said. They include:

Big V Property Group, which opens, operates and develops retail properties across the U.S., and The Seitz Group formed a joint venture with a fund managed by Principal Asset Management for the development of Rosamond Town Center. 

That project is a complementary development to Rosamond Crossing, which covers roughly 175,000 square feet and is set to include a Kroger grocery store. The two projects will be part of a roughly 750,000-square-foot complex being developed by Big V Property Group and The Seitz Group.

A groundbreaking is set for the end of this month on the site, according to a separate statement.

“We’re delighted that this new, much-needed project to serve a growing submarket of Dallas is continuing so rapidly — with Rosamond Town Center beginning construction nearly one year ahead of our original schedule,” said Jeffrey Rosenberg, chairman and CEO of Big V Property Group, in the statement.
