DALLAS – Sherry Sue Boyse (Wright), 72, went home to be with her Lord on June 13, 2026, surrounded by love. Funeral: 12 p.m. Saturday, June 20, 2026, in Mount Olivet Chapel, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made in Sherry’s honor to the Next Generation of Tradesmen Foundation, www.ngtf.co , an organization devoted to investing in the next generation, something Sherry believed in deeply. Sherry was born on May 2, 1954, in Dallas, Texas to Rodman Pershing Wright and Marjorie Robertson Wright. Sherry grew up curious about everything, the kind of girl who looked up at the night sky and wondered what was out there. That wonder never left her. She studied at Texas Tech University and went on to build a remarkable 30-year career as a cartographic technician with the United States Department of Agriculture, where she spent her working years helping put the world on paper, one careful map at a time by hand, long before computers ever entered the picture. In 1981, Sherry married Berrie Boyse, the love of her life. Together they built a family rooted in faith, hard work, and the kind of love that gets passed down through generations. They shared 26 years of marriage until his passing in 2007. After Berrie’s death, Sherry carried on with the same spunk and stubborn grace that defined her, holding her family close and her memories closer. Anyone who met Sherry knew her within five minutes. She was a talker, a storyteller, the kind of woman who could turn a trip to the grocery store into a tale worth retelling. She had a story for everything and a kind word for everyone. She put herself last so the people she loved could go first, and she did it without ever asking for credit. Spunky and stubborn, generous and tender, she was a force of nature wrapped in a soft heart. Her hands were rarely still. She loved to sew, and her needlepoint and plastic canvas creations carried hours of her quiet, faithful attention. She lit up over science fiction, geology, and the mysteries of space always rooting for humanity to make it to Mars in her lifetime. She had a soft spot for John Wayne Westerns, the kind of movies where the good guys won and the country was wide open. She loved music, loved travel, and loved helping other people, especially children, whom she championed without hesitation. Sherry was a woman of faith. A longtime member of the United Methodist Church, she carried her belief in Jesus with her through every season of her life. Amazing Grace was her hymn, and grace was the thorough line of her life. She was preceded in death by her husband, Berrie Boyse; her parents, Rodman and Marjorie Wright; and her sister, Terri Wright. Sherry leaves behind her daughter, Courtney Boyse Jones of Dallas, Texas; her grandson, Eli Jones; her son, James Boyse and his wife, Heather Boyse of Summerville, South Carolina; and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind countless friends, neighbors, and loved ones whose lives were softer, brighter, and braver because Sherry Boyse was in them. Rest well, Mom. We love you.
