The San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) is investigating after a person was struck and killed by a vehicle in the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 16. A roadway was temporarily closed as authorities reviewed the scene.
Preliminary information from SAPD indicates that a man was killed in the 8700 Block of Guilbeau Road. Officers say the individual crossed paths with another vehicle, and the driver didn’t have time to stop.
The victim’s name has not been released. According to SAPD, no arrests have been made.
A stretch of Guilbeau Road East between Tezel Road and TX-16/Bandera Road was closed until roughly 8:30 a.m. Commuters in the area were traveling at about 24 mph, according to the traffic monitoring site SigAlert, and were urged to take Braun Road as an alternate route to their destinations.
