EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. (KKTV) – There will be a new way for residents in El Paso County to apply for or renew a concealed handgun permit.
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office announced the Concealed Handgun Permit (CHP) application process will move to a fully online platform designed to enhance accessibility, improve ease of service and provide a more citizen-driven experience.
El Paso County deputies said applicants will be able to complete and manage all CHP-related applications online, including:

“Through that program, the user would be able to upload documents directly. It would decrease their wait time in the lobby. They would also be able to make changes in accommodations based on their needs,” Brittany Williams, an El Paso County Sheriff’s Office PIO sergeant, said.
Deputies said users of the new “Permitium” platform will be able to track their application status online through their account.
The new service will go into effect Monday.
