A person is barricaded inside a home in a Stone Oak neighborhood after San Antonio police responded to a call before an officer was shot.

The call for a shooting was reportedly made at about 12:30 p.m. at the 100 block of Red Hawk Ridge, according to multiple reports, which is near Hardy Oak Elementary School and Lopez Middle School. San Antonio Police Chief William McManus confirmed the shooting in a post on X and said an officer had been shot and a person has barricaded themselves inside a home. “SWAT/Negotiators on scene,” McManus said in the post. “Scene still extremely active.”

There are no additional details on if there were any other injuries from the shooting. There is also no information on the condition of the officer at this time. There was no mention if any of the schools in the area needed to be put on lockdown.

Officials said McManus was going to update information at some point on-scene.
