Stella was born on January 2, 1946 to Sterling (Rip) Fair and Eunice Juanita Fair. As a youth Stella was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Fort Worth, Texas and she was an active member. Prior to her death Stella was an active member of the Unity Church in Fort Worth, Texas.
Stella attended the public schools in Fort Worth, Texas and she graduated from Dunbar High School in 1964. In 1968 Stella graduated from the University of North Texas in Denton, Texas with a degree in Business Administration. She was employed with Mobile Oil in Employee Relations for many years and later worked and retired from the University of North Texas as a Human Resources Benefit Advisor.
As a Christian woman, Stella was compassionate and caring about service to others as demonstrated in her community activism and her personal library collection. Stella was a life long learner reading books on various topics with specific interest in religion, the marginalized, disenfranchised, and oppressed.
Stella was an active member of the Tarrant County League of Women Voters with a specific interest in voter registration. She had a special interest in the re-entry program for voters. She advocated for the rights of voters by communicating with legislators regarding voters rights and legislation affecting voters. Stella was an active member and volunteer for the AARP and advocated for senior citizen rights.
Her favorite color was blue and she loved Mexican food and enjoying family and friend gatherings bringing that infectious laugh. She always shared her political views and stressed the importance of community activism.
Stella’s survivors include her sister Gertrude Harden, a favorite cousin, Patricia Williams White, and life time friends Jennifer Kerl and Charlene Watts, and many beloved cousins and friends.
