Texas temperatures may be hitting triple digits soon, but true Lone Star State natives know summer hasn’t officially started until Blue Bell brings back this classic jammy flavor — Southern Blackberry Cobbler.

Indeed, the Brenham-born brand just announced the return of its beloved berry delicacy in a post to social media: “Set the table. Dessert is served!” the post caption read. “Southern Blackberry Cobbler Ice Cream returns to stores beginning today.”

According to Blue Bell, the velvety ice cream base includes a “luscious blackberry flavor” folded in with flaky pie crust pieces and ribbons of tart, dark blackberry swirls.

Blue Bell first introduced Southern Blackberry Cobbler flavor in 2007. Since then, it’s been peeking in and out of circulation exclusively during Texas’ most sweltering season. The last time the brand revived the flavor in Texas was June 2025, making it an instant summer classic for dedicated flavor fans.

“This flavor is elite!! One of the best made in my opinion!” wrote Ashley Long Falls on Facebook. “Definitely one of my favorites every year,” added Jennifer Fox.

The flavor is only available for a limited time in the half gallon size. After that, it’ll likely melt back into the Blue Bell vault until next year.
