Conservative influencer Jake Lang was released Tuesday from the Collin County jail after posting a reduced $250,000 bond in a terroristic threat case tied to the Karmelo Anthony murder trial.
Lang, 31, of Florida, is facing a charge related to making a livestreamed threat outside the courthouse, allegedly saying he would deliver a “headshot” to Anthony if the jury did not convict him for the killing of Austin Metcalf.
Judge John Roach Jr. lowered the bond from $1 million on June 18 and ordered Lang to leave Texas, with a provision that he must wear a GPS ankle monitor. He is barred from returning except for court or attorney meetings.
Assistant District Attorney Bill Wirskye said the case was “an assault on the integrity of the criminal justice system,” not a free speech matter.
On the social media platform X, Lang shared a Fox 4 video where he said: “Freedom! Woo hoo! … I’m the first man in American history to be kicked out and banned from the state of Texas for my political ideologies.” He added that “judicial tyrants have gone drunk with power.”
On social media, he called it unprecedented “lawfare” and said “the crussade continues” in a post on X.
Lang was arrested June 2 on a separate criminal trespass charge in Frisco. The warrant stemmed from an April 2025 incident in which he published a video of himself breaking into David Kuykendall Stadium — site of the fatal stabbing of Metcalf. Frisco police obtained the warrant after reviewing his own video and booked him into the Collin County jail.
An examining trial is set for July 31 in the Collin County case.
