Universal Music Group has officially unveiled plans to bring a massive new luxury hotel, an open-air entertainment destination, and hundreds of community residences to the Lone Star State.

In a June 17 press release, the music company announced the UMusic Hotel & Private Residences Austin, a 71-acre site that will bring 150 hotel rooms, 600 condominium homes, the new 10,000-seat open-air White Rocks Amphitheater and several other new spaces to Texas’ capital city.

Developers say the project is intended to reinforce Austin’s role in the global music scene by bringing world-class performances to the future White Rocks Amphitheater, built at the same scale as the iconic Red Rocks in Colorado. The development will blend a luxury hospitality experience with a network of live entertainment to further elevate the city’s performing arts scene and mark a “new era” of “entertainment-led living in the Texas Hill Country.”

Inside, the hotel will feature a central bar, an indoor performance venue, a nightclub, a comedy club and dining amenities. The development will also include recording and content studios, a spa and a longevity center.

The new development will sit above 10,000 acres of Texas Hill Country preserve yet be surrounded by city life, according to the release. More than 70% of the project will remain untouched as dedicated green space, serving as a backdrop to the amphitheater.

UMusic Hospitality & Lifestyle will operate the hotel, and White Rocks is the owner and developer of the project.

The news release notes that the future destination was designed to align with Austin’s “creative energy.” It intends to be a “significant private philanthropic contributor” by supporting local artists, creating paid performance opportunities and partnering with local schools and universities to provide mentorship and access to creative pathways.

This will be the first UMusic Hotel to feature private homes. Future residents will have access to a private pool, fitness facilities, underground parking, community spaces and entertainment amenities.

“This property combines performance, wellness, nature, and community into a single living ecosystem, reflecting Austin’s creative spirit on a global stage,” said Jordi Solé, president of the UMusic hospitality brand.
