EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — A train derailment on Wednesday evening led to a road closure in Northeast El Paso, according to the El Paso Police Department, as officers warned drivers to expect disruptions into the late hours of the night.

The El Paso Police Department said it is assisting with the closure on the 1200 block of Railroad after a train derailment, which occurred at 5:51 p.m. on Wednesday.

As a result of the derailment, northbound and southbound traffic are closed in the area, and drivers are being asked to seek an alternate route.

According to the El Paso Fire Department, there are no injuries reported.
