EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/ CBS4) — A police pursuit in East El Paso ended in a motorcycle crash early Friday morning, prompting a response from multiple agencies and temporarily blocking lanes near Lomaland.
El Paso police responded to the crash, along with the Texas Department of Public Safety and El Paso Fire. The incident happened at Gateway East at Lomaland, blocking the turnaround and the right lane on Lomaland south just before 7:30 Friday.
A preliminary investigation found that a DPS trooper attempted to stop a motorcyclist for a violation near Cotton and I-10 eastbound. The motorcyclist did not stop, and a pursuit ensued, DPS said. The pursuit ended when the motorcyclist crashed after evading under the overpass at Lomaland and Gateway East.
One person sustained nonlife-threatening injuries.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further information was available.
