Cincinnati Bengals linebacker Logan Wilson was traded to the Dallas Cowboys for a seventh-round pick.

The reactions from fans of the Cincinnati Bengals ranged from wishing him well to pointing out that he isn’t going to see a lot more success on a weak Cowboys defense.

Here are some of the highlights:

Fans showed their appreciation for Wilson’s contributions, especially in that 2021-22 run to the Super Bowl.

Sports Illustrated’s Mike Santagata went the film room route and posted a two and a half minute career highlight reel.

Joe Goodberry and other analysts documented Wilson’s recent decline.

John Sheeran said that age was definitely a factor, noting that Wilson’s peak ended around the time he got a new contract, using that idea to point out that drafting the 25-year-old Demetrius Knight might not have been the wisest move.

Sheeran also observed a shift in the mindset of the Bengals’ front office, honoring a trade request even though it wasn’t accompanied by the kind of drama we saw with the Carson Palmer and Carlos Dunlap situations.

The Bengals did right by Wilson in giving him the chance to move on to Dallas, though many believe he’ll find himself in an equally bad situation.

Regardless, it was time to move on. Cincinnati must now look ahead and figure out how to get players to buy into the system again, because clearly, frustration has reached a boiling point for Chase Brown, Ja’Marr Chase, and others on the offensive side of the ball.
