Dozens of politicians took the stage at the Texas Democratic Convention at the Hilliard Center in Corpus Christi on June 26.

Politicians and activists talking to a crowd of thousands included former Nueces County Judge Barbara Canales, civil rights activist Dolores Huerta, U.S. Sen. Cory Booker, U.S. Senate candidate James Talarico and Texas gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa.

Speakers took digs at President Donald Trump, Texas Gov. Greg Abbott and Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton while speaking about the importance of voting, the water crisis in Corpus Christi, Texas public schools and more.

Earlier in the day, a group of Texas Republican lawmakers held a news conference in which they criticized a range of Democratic policies.

The Texas Democratic Convention began June 25 continued on June 27.
