HALTOM CITY – Tommy Elton Cryer, 73, of Haltom City, Texas, passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2026, in Grapevine, Texas. Visitation will be held from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, June 28, 2026, in Mount Olivet Chapel. A Funeral Service will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2026, in Mount Olivet Chapel. Interment will immediately follow at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Tommy was born on December 20, 1952, in Jasper, Texas, to Ecil E. Cryer and Billie Cryer. He married the love of his life, Christy Brown, on November 13, 1970, in Fort Worth, Texas. Together they shared 55 years of marriage, building a life centered on faith, family, and cherished memories. Tommy dedicated his career to serving others, working as a Master Plumber for 25 years before spending 17 years as a Building Inspector. He was known for his strong work ethic, integrity, and willingness to help those around him. Above all else, Tommy was devoted to his family. There was nothing he enjoyed more than supporting his children and grandchildren. Whether it was soccer, baseball, football, cheerleading, or any other activity, Tommy could always be found in the stands, proudly cheering them on. His greatest joy was spending time at the ball fields and making memories with those he loved most. Tommy also enjoyed hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren. While the outdoors brought him great happiness, it was the fellowship around the campfire and the invaluable time spent with family that meant the most to him. When he was at home, he could often be found watching his favorite westerns-over and over again-something his family lovingly remembers and smiles about today. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ecil E. Cryer and Billie Cryer; his brother, Andy Cryer; and his sisters, Linda Cryer and Jimmie Bloss. Tommy is survived by his loving wife, Christy Cryer of Haltom City; daughter, Diana Cryer of Weatherford, Texas; sons, Kevin Cryer and wife Melissa of Hurst, Texas, and Randy Cryer and wife Angie of Fort Worth, Texas; bonus son, Kirk Broom and wife Ashley of North Richland Hills, Texas; sister, Pat Humphrey and husband Ralph of Cleburne, Texas; brother, Roy Cryer and wife Sonia of Joshua, Texas; sister, Ann Meeuwes and husband GJ of Maastricht, Netherlands; as well as 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, extended family members, and many dear friends. Tommy will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. His legacy of love, devotion to family, and unwavering support will continue to live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
