Texas A&M keeps on dominating the 2027 recruiting cycle.
The Aggies added another major commitment on Sunday in five-star wide receiver Eric McFarland, who chooses to head to College Station next year over offers from the likes of Georgia, Florida and Tennessee. He announced his commitment on a live show on CBS Sports.
According to ESPN’s rankings, McFarland joins and already loaded 2027 class for Texas A&M which includes offensive tackles Kennedy Brown and Mark Matthews and defenders Raylaun Henry, Zyron Forstall and Kamarui Dorsey, all of whom are five-star prospects. If the Aggies sign all six players in December, it would break the record for five-star signings since ESPN’s recruiting rankings were introduced, surpassing 2014 Alabama and 2022 Texas A&M, which each had five five-star additions.
McFarland is a 5-foot-8, 180-pound speedster from Florida’s IMG Academy. Listed as ESPN’s No. 3 wide receiver and the No. 17 overall recruit in the 2027 class, he was initially one of the top prospects in the 2028 cycle before reclassifying in December of last year. He said A&M’s development of transfer wide receivers KC Concepcion and Mario Carver helped convince him to pick the Aggies over his other offers.
Head coach Mike Elko, who led Texas A&M to its first-ever College Football Playoff appearance in 2025, is looking to deliver his third consecutive top-10 recruiting class since taking over the program in 2024.
