LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Another day of heat on the South Plains along with a few storms.
Moving into the last week of June, the heat will extend into next weekend, but we should see a slight dip in afternoon temperatures the next few days.(John Robison | KCBD Graphic)

After a high over the century mark on Sunday, the last two days of June should be slightly lower. I’m dropping the high for Monday to the mid to upper 90s over the region. Tuesday will be a little lower and will aim for the low 90s.

I do expect the afternoon temperatures to return to the mid to upper 90s by Friday.
Isolated to scattered thunderstorms will continue this week with late afternoon and evening the most favored times for rain.
