A luxury pet resort is coming to New Braunfels as a growing Texas pet care company plans a new facility offering boarding, daycare and grooming services.
Le Chateau Pet Resort is developing a new 13,563-square-foot resort at 301 Caney Creek Road, according to state project filings. The privately funded project carries an estimated construction cost of $1.7 million and is expected to begin construction in July 2026, with completion listed for January 2027.
The project will sit on 3.25 acres and include a new metal building, parking, utilities, drainage improvements, landscaping, outdoor pet yards and other site improvements, according to the filing.
The company has not yet responded to a request for comment about the project, timeline or additional details about the New Braunfels location.
The New Braunfels resort will mark the company’s third Texas location. Le Chateau currently operates resorts in Amarillo and Wichita Falls, where it describes its facilities as luxury hospitality-style destinations for pets.
According to the company’s website, the New Braunfels location will feature private dog suites with indoor comfort and outdoor access, cat villas with enrichment areas and specialized accommodations for exotic pets.
The resort plans to offer dog boarding and daycare with supervised play, housekeeping, outdoor yards and live cameras for owners to check in on their pets. Premium accommodations at existing locations include additional services such as enrichment activities, in-suite entertainment and bedtime treats.
Le Chateau Pet Resort was founded in 2009 by Dawn Hallgren, who began her career in animal rescue and foster care before creating the company. The company says its mission is to provide pets with a vacation-like experience while giving owners peace of mind.
Pricing for the New Braunfels location has not been announced. Rates at the company’s existing resorts vary based on services and accommodations, ranging from standard boarding options to luxury suites priced above $100 per night.
