WokStar Chinese opened June 24, 2026, in West Village, a retail development in Uptown Dallas.
Like the original WokStar on Walnut Hill in Dallas, the Uptown restaurant has a menu of lo mein, crab rangoon, xiao long bao and rice dishes with Mongolian beef, orange chicken, firecracker shrimp, hot garlic pork and the like.
This longtime restaurant spot in West Village was formerly a Taco Diner for two decades. More recently, a different Dallas-based restaurant group called Local Favorite took over the address and opened UnaVida, an all-day Mexican restaurant. When it closed in mid-2025, the same restaurateurs behind UnaVida made plans to open WokStar.
As WokStar in West Village, the restaurant was redesigned with warm neutral colors inside and pops of red neon. The enclosed patio has been painted a modern black.
WokStar Chinese is at 3699 McKinney Ave., Suite 307 (in West Village), Dallas. It opened June 24, 2026. The original WokStar remains open at 8041 Walnut Hill Lane, Dallas.
