COAL COUNTY, Okla. (KXII) – One person was flown to a hospital after being seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in Coal County early Monday morning.
Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers said Sean Hilfer, 23, of Coalgate, was driving a vehicle traveling north on North 3775 Road at around 3 a.m. when it exited the road to the left, struck a culvert, and then a tree.
Troopers said a passenger was flown to a hospital in Plano in critical condition.
The injured passenger’s identity has not been released at this time.
A total of five people, including the driver, Hilfer, were inside the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Not all occupants inside the vehicle were wearing seatbelts when the crash happened, OHP said.
No one else was injured in the crash.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
