FORT WORTH – Louis Guerra Jr., 63, passed away peacefully at home on June 24, after a lengthy illness, to be with his Lord and Savior. Louis was born on April 24, 1963, in Fort Worth to Louis Guerra Sr. and the late Angie Guerra. He leaves behind his loving husband of 28 years, John Carmichael, and their beloved fur baby, Gigi. He was the best big brother to Linda Zamora (Martin) and Lisa Guerra (Joe Wright), and an adoring uncle to Taylor, Christian, and Maddie. Louis had the biggest heart and the most radiant smile. He was the original “dog whisperer” and lovingly cared for Sadie, Romeo, Zoe, and his princess, Gigi. Wherever Louis worked, his coworkers adored him, and he formed many close, lifelong friendships. Everyone was drawn to his kind heart, gentle spirit, and caring personality. He loved spending time with friends, especially at parties, and if the invitation called for a costume, he enthusiastically joined in. Louis had a passion for dressing well and could always find something to buy on every shopping trip. He loved high-end fashion and took great joy in discovering hidden treasures. He always looked forward to celebrating birthdays, graduations, and holidays with his immediate and large extended family. Louis also loved to travel and enjoyed many memorable adventures around the world, from driving tiny cars through Iceland to relaxing on the beautiful beaches of Mexico and cruising the Mediterranean. He truly enjoyed life. At the end of the day, his favorite place was in his recliner, wrapped in a warm blanket by the fire, watching his favorite Dallas-area sports teams. He faithfully and passionately cheered on the Cowboys, Rangers, Stars, and Mavericks. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 30, from 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. in Greenwood’s Live Oak Chapel, 3100 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, Texas 76107. A Rosary will follow at 6:00 p.m. in the chapel.A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 1, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Fort Worth. Following the Mass, family and friends are invited to attend the entombment at Greenwood Funeral Home, 3210 White Settlement Road, Fort Worth, Texas.
