PLANO – A woman has died after she was shot in a home near Rexburg on Sunday night.
The Madison County Sheriff’s Office has identified the woman as 49-year-old Lesa Perrenoud of Plano.
Deputies were called around 5:30 p.m. to a home located at 4021 North 5725 East in Plano for a report of a shooting, according to the Madison County Sheriff’s Office.
When deputies arrived, they reportedly found a woman lying unconscious inside the home after being shot. She was later identified as Perrenoud.

It is not yet clear where the gunshot wound was located.
Deputies and emergency medical personnel began lifesaving efforts, and Perrenoud was transported by air ambulance to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center, where she later died.
The sheriff’s office says it is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding this incident. Deputies say there is no ongoing threat to the public.
“The Sheriff’s Office extends its deepest condolences to Mrs. Perrenoud’s family and loved ones during this difficult time,” Sheriff Ron Ball said in a news release.
