Federal officials are investigating what they described as a non-credible threat at Houston Stadium on Monday.

“FBI Houston is aware of a threat to Houston Stadium circulating online. We are working with our local, state, and federal public safety partners to investigate who is behind the communication,” the agency told Chron in a statement Monday afternoon. “At this time, there is no credibility to the threat.  We continue to analyze and assess the situation.

Connor Hagan, a spokesperson for the FBI Houston, told KHOU 11 that an online threat had been sent to multiple businesses and news organizations Monday morning, referencing Houston Stadium. Hagan said investigators determined the threat was not credible, but are still working to trace its origin.

Officials are urging the public to report any suspicious activity. No additional information was available as of Monday afternoon.

“We urge the public to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activity or individuals to law enforcement immediately,” the FBI Houston wrote in its statement.

This is a developing story.
