The Portland Cascade softball team wrapped up a three-game sweep over the Texas Volts with a 5-2 road win Sunday.

The Cascade secured the win with a four-run burst in the fourth inning, moving into the lead when a Volts wild pitch allowed both Kendra Falby and Sis Bates to race home. Two batters later, Megan Grant skied a two-run homer to center field that glanced off a glove and bounced over the fence.

She leads the AUSL with eight home runs. Grant homered in her first at-bat, as well, to give the Cascade an early 1-0 lead.

Portland pitcher Carley Hoover came to the circle in the third inning and finished out the game, striking out five along the way.

The Cascade (8-4) heads into the week in second place in the league — 1 game behind the Utah Talons.

Portland travels to Chicago for a pair of games Tuesday and Thursday.
