LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Texas Chapter of the American Water Works Association is hosting its Agricultural Water Sustainability Summit next month at the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center.
Agriculture is the largest consumer of water in Texas, using more than 60 percent of the state’s available supplies annually, according to the association. That water produces more than $159 billion in food and fiber each year nationally, representing 8.6 percent of the Texas GDP.
Attendees will have the opportunity to share ideas and knowledge with state industry leaders, researchers, and stakeholders on how to use water more sustainably.
Registration for the event is open now.
