SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — Two children are in the hospital after gunfire hit a home on the East Side early Tuesday morning.
The San Antonio Police Department sent officers to the 4000 block of Comanche Sunrise on report of shots fired. They were told the sound of gunfire had woken up the residents. Two children told their grandmother they had been shot, and she then called 9-1-1 for help.
The two elementary school-age children were rushed to the hospital, and both are reported to be in stable condition. Police say both children were hit in the leg and back.
Investigators think the shots were fired from behind the house, and bullet holes were also found in the back fence. It is unconfirmed if the house was hit intentionally or by accident.
Two adults and six children were in the home at the time shots were fired.
