Elon Musk is a trillionaire again — for now. The SpaceX and Tesla CEO’s net worth climbed back to 13 digits after a resurgence in SpaceX and Tesla stock prices on Monday, June 29, according to Forbes.

Additionally, Musk gave up about $7.1 billion to exercise stock options he received as part of a 2018 CEO performance package, and new restrictions on about $116 billion worth of his Tesla stock — of which Musk owns 700 million shares — prompted Forbes to drop Musk’s estimated net worth by about $60 billion. That devaluation dropped Musk back below the trillionaire mark to a still-staggering $957 billion.

Even with a 34% tumble of his personal fortune, Musk is still the richest person in the world — a status he has held since May 2024 — and it’s not even close. According to Forbes, the next-richest people are Google co-founders Larry Page ($289 billion) and Sergey Brin ($266 billion), and Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos ($250 billion), whose private space company, Blue Origin, is valued at less than $100 billion.

Musk’s fortune has seen a meteoric rise over an incredibly short timeframe. At the end of 2024, he became the first person in the world to be worth $400 million. That figure increased to $500 billion in October 2025, then continued to leap by hundreds of billions more.

Over the last eight months, Musk’s net worth has doubled to the 13-figure range. Following his return to trillionaire status on Monday, Musk’s fortune had already climbed an additional $7.1 billion by mid-morning on Tuesday, June 30, according to Forbes’ “Real-Time Billionaires” tracker.
